An invitation to join us at the February meeting of the Robinson-Kell Chapter of SABR
College baseball is in full swing, spring training has begun, and the warmer days tease us about sitting in the sun and watching the game we love. At Arkansas SABR, we can offer the next best thing to watching baseball…talking about it.
Join us Saturday, February 28, for a meeting of the Robinson-Kell Chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research. The meeting begins at noon at the Graceway Baptist Church of Bryant, Arkansas.
You do not have to be a member of National SABR. (guests are always welcome)
There is no charge for the meeting, and snacks will be provided. (We usually collect a voluntary collection for the use of the room. )
Former Razorback Boyd Goodner will kick off the meeting with a rewind of the 2004 season. In Dave Van Horn’s second year in Fayetteville, a determined group of Hogs, picked by some writers to finish last in the conference, shared the SEC Title, swept LSU in Baton Rouge, and reached the College World Series. Goodner pitched in a team-high 32 games and posted a 1.50 ERA in 60 innings.
Following Goodner’s talk and questions, presenters will offer brief presentations on Arkansas baseball history.
These meetings usually adjourn about 4:30. BE THERE!
